Safer Recruitment Update
On 1 September 2020, the latest version of
Keeping Children Safe in Education
(KCSIE) came into force. From a recruitment perspective, there are no changes of note for independent schools. However, schools should ensure that any references to KCSIE in their recruitment documentation are updated. We have amended all of the affected documents in the Safer Recruitment Pack. The Safer Recruitment Pack may be accessed free of charge via OnStream.
The amended documents are:
Recruitment, selection and disclosure policy and procedure
Application form
Contractors: clause for contract
Contractors: letter to confirm compliance with statutory guidance and legislation
Supply agencies: letter to confirm compliance with statutory guidance and legislation
The table of spent convictions in the Application Form has also been updated.
The Update also contains an article on expected changes to the DBS filtering rules. They are currently going through the legislative process. You can access the Update free of charge below.
